Oh my gosh, I could not be more in love with Chaney & John’s Columbus engagement session! If I knew that Columbus was filled with Spanish moss, I would have been here way more often! If you have never been, the Riverwalk in downtown Columbus is a dream. Moss covered trees line the river as you walk along, and the town is filled with so much history. When I first got in touch with Chaney, I was blown away by her and John’s love story.
“John was born in Texas, I in South Carolina, we met in Louisiana, and we are moving to Alaska at the end of the summer. John and I were set up on our first date through his favorite cousin, Caitlin. She and I worked together at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for a month in close quarters when she basically said I know the perfect man for you and she was absolutely right! John is a Captain in the US Army and while he was assigned originally to Fort Bragg, NC they just changed his orders to Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
We are both what I like to call traditional Southern. I wear pearl earrings every day, my favorite nail and lip color is red, and I dress pretty conservatively. John still to this day, 2 years into dating, opens his truck door for me every single time I get in! He is what I like to call “military” and does not relax often, but man, I do know that man loves me. “Relaxing on the couch” entails a collared shirt and khakis! He is also the most kind, thoughtful, and best man I have ever met!”
How precious are they?! Traditional Southern is the perfect way to describe these two. Chaney & John were dressed to the nines, and Chaney braved the cold and wind in her gorgeous dress. But the cold wasn’t anything a little snuggling couldn’t fix! They share a timeless and classic love. I know that their wedding day and marriage is going to be the biggest reflection of that!
Chaney & John, I adore y’all and cannot wait until your gorgeous wedding this summer!
So much love,
