OH MY WORD! I keep trying to form the perfect sentences to describe Rachel & Adam’s Shallow Springs Farm wedding. But here we are almost two weeks later and I am still falling short. The Karabenli wedding was an absolute blessing to be a part of. Rachel & Adam became husband and wife as they promised to serve God and one another for the rest of their lives. And to top it all off, Rachel’s entire family came together to turn her nanny’s farm into their perfect wedding venue! If you are a fan of beautiful moments that tug at your heart strings, southern charm, and gorgeous couples, then trust me when I say you will fall in love with these two! And if you’re not, I promise you’ll change your mind by the end of this 🙂
When I first met Rachel, it instantly felt like we were old friends. Rachel has a smile that will light up any room that she walks in, and is one of the most sincere, genuine people you will meet. I first got in touch with Rachel & Adam because they had both gone to the same high school as Mitch. Mitch and Rachel were in the same graduating class, and she had been following my work over the years. Once we met in person and started talking about their future marriage, I just knew that I had to be a part of their special day!!
Even though Rachel & Adam met in high school, it wasn’t until her freshman year of college that Adam began to pursue her and ask Rachel on dates. They started dating the first summer she was home from college, and the rest is history. Five years later, and the love that these two have for each other and the Lord is undeniable. I really don’t believe that enough wonderful adjectives exist to describe them. They are servant hearted, compassionate, joyful, tender, selfless and the list goes on and on. Not a single person goes unnoticed around them, and you instantly feel love being around them. They simply love like Jesus. Not to mention the fact that they are a STUNNINGLY beautiful and brilliant couple. That just helps their case!
Once Adam & Rachel were engaged, a whole lot of love went in to making their wedding day a reality! Their wedding venue might be called Shallow Springs Farm, but it has a much more special name to Rachel and her family – Nanny’s house. Nanny’s house has now been the setting of several of her grandchildren’s weddings, and I can’t think of anything more special than that. Countless family members came together to get everything ready for the wedding, and the transformation was unbelievable. On their wedding day, I was treated like family all day long. And there were powerful moments all. day. long. Rachel and her bridesmaids got ready in Rachel’s mom’s old bedroom. Both Adam and Rachel’s rings came from Adam’s parents jewelry store. Nanny had her own private first look with Rachel on her front porch. And that was all before the ceremony!
One of my absolute favorite moments from their wedding was shortly after the foot washing ceremony. It was such a beautiful moment as Adam & Rachel promised to serve one another and God for the rest of their lives. And right afterwards, Adam leans in for a kiss. It took about half a second for Rachel to realize that they in fact had not had their first kiss yet. So she quickly turns her head and bursts in to laughter. The moments that followed were some of the most priceless memories. Between their personalized vows for one another and the unwavering support from family and friends, it was a beautiful, beautiful ceremony. And just like that, they were FINALLY able to kiss, and they were MARRIED!!
Rachel & Adam, I wholeheartedly adore you both. Thank you for being a shining example to the world of what it looks like to love and be loved. I will forever be humbled by the fact that I was able to be such a small part of your day!
