Chaney & John’s Dataw Island Club wedding was the epitome of classic, Southern perfection. Ever since I met with these two for their engagement session in Columbus, I have been eagerly awaiting their wedding like it was my own! The day quickly approached, and Alexis and I had the biggest pleasure of traveling to the precious town of Beaufort, SC to capture their day! This was our first time in Beaufort, and we will definitely be back again. There’s a special place in my heart for the lowcountry, and Beaufort is dripping in Southern charm! Right after we pulled into town I instantly knew that their wedding weekend was going to be a special one.
Family and friends traveled from near and far to celebrate Captain and Mrs. Rush. The end of their long distance relationship had finally come to an end – and their next chapter just beginning. A few months ago, Chaney and John realized that they would be starting their lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. Having spent the majority of their lives in the South, I have a feeling that this next adventure is going to be their best yet! The fact that these two are moving across the country made their wedding day that much sweeter. Every detail and aspect of their day was perfectly thought out, and the closeness between families made my heart burst!
Chaney and John are loved so deeply by everyone around them. They are compassionate, tender hearted, and above all, they absolutely adore one another! Chaney wore the most classic, timeless gown, and her bridesmaids were equally as classic! I’m a sucker for classic black and white, and the girls could not have looked more beautiful! John was joined by his brother, Chaney’s brother’s, and friends from West Point. Their bridal party was a joy to be around, and they made our jobs SO easy!
After a long awaited beautiful ceremony, Chaney and John were pronounced husband & wife before God and their favorite people! Then it was off to Dataw Island club as Chaney’s father, Wallie, welcomed their guests with a heart felt, sentimental toast to his daughter and son in law. And then, Chaney was surprised in the best way with the mascot from her alma matter! Clemson fans everywhere came together for their fight song, and got to spend the entire evening partying with their favorite tiger!
Captain & Mrs. Rush, Alexis and I are incredibly grateful and humbled to have been a part of your wedding day. You two are the easiest people to celebrate, and I know that God has SO much in store for you both in and through your marriage! Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for the sacrifices that you make for this country. Here’s to the start of your next chapter in Alaska with your precious puppy, Renfro!
WE ADORE YOU!
