Oh 2018, you have been SO, so good to us. As I sit here reflecting on this past year, I am blown away by how good and faithful the Lord has been. Talk about a whirlwind year, in 2018 alone we:
- Planned our wedding
- Witnessed our dear friends Lynn & Leah get married
- Mitch and I were in the bridal party at Keith & Makenzie’s wedding
- MITCH & I GOT MARRIED!!
- I was a bridesmaid at one of my bridesmaids (Anna) wedding the week after we got married
- Alexis and I were able to be a part of 20 couples starting their marriages.
That of course is just a brief overview of everything wedding related this past year. Reading over those few points, I am so humbled and grateful for this past year. Not only has this been the greatest year of my life personally, but in my business as well. And I am overwhelmingly thankful!
One of the greatest things about this wedding season was being able to go through this season of life with all of my couples. I have always been that person to get overly excited about everyone’s wedding, but going through it with them made me that much more excited! Being able to share in the joys and emotions of a wedding day was unmatched, and it was such a blessing to be able to do so.
2018 was also a year of great growth for me. A year of honing in on my exact style, investing in myself and education, and nurturing my relationships that I have made in this industry.
Now on to the really good stuff – our beloved couples. Our weddings this year took us from the Stave Room to family farms, Nashville, St Augustine, the Low Country, and finally wrapping things up on New Years Eve at the Georgian Terrace. We were able to shoot at some of our DREAM venues and work alongside the most incredible team of vendors. But most importantly, we walked alongside 20 amazing couples as they got married.
I say this every year, but being invited in to experience the start of a marriage is unlike any other. As photographers, we are gifted with the opportunity to capture some of life’s most precious moments. Moments that will be forever remembered, moments to look back on when times are tough, and memories to cherish for generations to come.
To all of our 2018 couples
Thank you for all of the hugs that made us feel like family, inviting us to your rehearsal dinners (as guests!), and for going above and beyond to make sure we feel loved and cared for on your special day. Getting to work with people with such gracious and loving hearts makes mine BURST. I’m not sure how we got so lucky! Lex and I adore each and every one of you wholeheartedly, and will forever cherish your friendship!
